A Brief History: Wallis and the Wallis Brand

The Wallis family started the business in 1965 at Gillygate, York. The business still maintains a family presence and retains all the values associated with family concern.

In 1990 the Malton branch was established by way of takeover of AM Stationers and the 12,000 square foot distribution centre was set up on the Clifton Moor Trading Estate in York, the ideal site for trading to all areas of Yorkshire, this being the Wallis head office. The year of 1996 saw further developments, with the takeover of White Rose Computer Supplies, thus enabling Wallis to supply the ever-increasing computer supplies market. In January 2008 the company acquired Central Stationers of Darlington which enabled us to have a presence in supplying more of the North of England. In November 2008 the Gillygate branch closed down and all the print and training staff moved across to Head Office at Kettlestring Lane, Clifton Moor. The training department got there own base at Concept Court- directly opposite the head office.

The company now employs 60 staff, covering the whole spectrum of office supplies and services. With sales exceeding £5 million, Wallis are the largest supplier in the area, offering a total in house service and truly are Your Complete Office Supplier.
